Dear Mrs. Burkhead,
Just a few lines to thank you with all my heart for being so kind in letting me know the notifications you received. I cannot put in writing how much my heart aches for you. I feel as though I have lost a dear friend. You were both so kind to my Louis. But, please my dear, do not give up hope, at a time like this we are so often misinformed.

I have not received any word about Louis up to now, but as you can well imagine, I expect I will very shortly.

Please be brave, for I shall continue to pray for you and your loved one.
