RUTH DEBECK
Ruth DeBeck - Note from Jack's First Girlfriend I think Jack was a new driver (16) when he became my first boyfriend. We enjoyed the usual activities of the time, such as doubles ping pong at my house and an occasional movie. He was male lead in a classroom play and sang as his part required. I was impressed with his maturity as he performed close up for his peers - no giggling! His expressive baritone made him a soloist in the yearly musical show at Withrow (High School). His family picked me up to share a visitor's day at Boy Scout Camp that summer. I felt special! Time and interests moved on but Jack and pal Charles paid me a last visit 2 or 3 years later. We drove to Lunken Airport to see Jack's plane! I appreciated the attention to an old friend of both boys. Sadly, it would be the last for Jack. What a shame Jack left us. Many of his classmates knew he had an illustrious career (at 16!) and a promising future.
