Dear Mother,

Since I haven't as yet heard from you, I can't tell whether my mail is going through or not. Just thought I'd try this service - you tell me which you like the best. In case you haven't been getting my air mail letters, I'll again tell you where I am. The place? - just somewhere in England. Naturally that's all I can tell you.

Nothing new has developed lately. Earl and I are both practically bald. We had our first overseas haircuts yesterday and they were really haircuts - nice and close. Mother, see if you can find out how I can get in touch with Alex. Send me his A.P.O. number and I'll drop him a line.
